IT Specialist
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Systems Administrator of IT for Taplin Companies
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates with user departments for scheduling, problem resolution, documentation, and production control
Evaluates and resolves user problems; identifies and obtains appropriate resources for the resolution of complex problems; corrects routine problems by making minor repairs to computer equipment and/or scripts and Intune for Microsoft Server; contacts appropriate resources for additional assistance
Instructs and trains new employees in the use of computer equipment and of computer applications; answers questions and assists in resolving problems regarding the methods and procedures for using computer applications
Coordinates installation of new hardware/software; installs, tests, and monitors the operation of computer hardware and software; configures hardware and software to meet department’s needs
Advise on new WAN/LAN infrastructure as well as datacenter layout for new offices
Evaluates needs for new and revised systems; identifies possible improvements in computer systems; makes recommendations for purchase of new information systems hardware and software; negotiates with vendors for services and products; oversees work of vendors
Administers LANs/WANs; establishes procedures to back up data stored in computers and to maintain efficient operation of LANs/WANs; provides server support and maintenance; uses various utilities to troubleshoot, repair, and check configuration of servers
Coordinates installation of Fiber, SIP, and datacenter environments; maintains, renews, and researches options regarding provider contracts
Assists in oversight of cellular communication contract; device distribution, training, and repair; effectively communicate with providers and vendors
Adapts existing forms and other programs to best meet departmental or end-user needs
Coordinates distribution, repairs purchases and maintenance of two-way radio fleet; ensures the specific needs of projects are met through effective communication with project management
Oversees IT security systems in all office locations and coordinates installations, repairs, and modifications
Maintains various records and documentation for department computer systems
Maintains working knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies
Support and comply with all components of Companies Safety program
Regular and physical attendance is an essential function of this position
Occasional travel to project sites and other offices located throughout the region will be required; occasional overnight travel will be required
Work outside normal office hours will be required based on need and workload
Fast paced & demanding work environment – one day could be spent working in the office and the next could be spent at a job site

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Networking knowledge of complex WAN/LAN environments with remote locations
Windows Server 2022- 2016 Administration, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange 365, ESXi, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Office Suites
Cisco certification and knowledge of Meraki networks
Sage software suites experience a plus
Knowledge of API’s
Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and multi-task
Able to perform all jobs with little or no supervision or instructions
Good communication skills in written and verbal forms
Good customer service skills including resolution to end user needs
EDUCATIONAL / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience 3+ years
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be mentally and physically fit to perform assigned duties
Must be able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods
Good vision and hearing
