Six Core Principles
These principles came to us directly through decades of service from Al Taplin, the late father of Steve Taplin who is the founder and President of our family of companies. We inherited these tried and true guide points and they are at the heart of who we are and the foundation of our success.
Integrity – Safety – Customer Focus – Intensity – Training – Teamwork
Integrity: We do what’s right, even when no one’s watching. Every Taplin decision is guided by honesty, transparency, and accountability - because trust is the foundation of every partnership and every project we take on.
Safety: We protect what matters most - our people, our clients, and the communities we serve. Safety isn’t a policy; it’s a promise. Every task, every site, every day.
Customer Focus: Our clients’ challenges are our mission. We listen, anticipate, and deliver solutions that go beyond compliance - building confidence through communication, responsiveness, and results that last.
Intensity: We bring urgency, energy, and pride to everything we do. Environmental challenges demand focus and follow-through and we show up ready to solve them, no matter how complex.
Training: We invest in our people so that they can invest in excellence. Ongoing education and mentorship and hands-on learning ensure that every Taplin employee is equipped to lead with skill, confidence, and care.
Teamwork: We win as one. Collaboration drives innovation and reliability - because when we combine our strengths, we create safer sites, stronger relationships, and better outcomes for everyone.

Safety Culture at Taplin
TAPLIN = SAFETY
We recognize the importance of safety in our industry and the critical role it plays as a measure of success for every project. All field team members are experienced and trained to perform the specific functions necessary to complete assigned work tasks in a safe and professional manner.
Every Taplin team member has the authority to stop work activities at any time if they become aware of a potential safety hazard.
ELKS In-House Training
We developed our own in-house safety training program known as ELKS, which stands for Elimination of Loss through Knowledge and Stewardship. It is a behavior-based safety program designed to identify potential accidents before they take place.
