Human Resources Generalist (On-Site) - Kalamazoo, MI

Taplin Group is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our growing team in Kalamazoo, MI. This is a hands-on, in-office role that will play a key part in supporting employees, strengthening HR operations, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality employee experience.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being a go-to resource for employees, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to make a direct impact on day-to-day operations.

What You’ll Do

• Support onboarding and ensure all new hires have a smooth, organized, and professional start
• Maintain employee records and support the transition to electronic files
• Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and HR-related needs
• Assist with benefits enrollment and help employees navigate insurance and coverage questions
• Support HR processes including attendance tracking, documentation, and compliance
• Partner with operations to track certifications, licenses, and required training
• Assist with recruiting coordination, interviews, and candidate communication
• Manage administrative processes including credit card reporting and per diem tracking
• Provide in-person HR support to employees and leaders across the organization

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in HR, administration, or a related role
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with employees at all levels
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment
• Experience in construction, field operations, or similar industries is a plus

Compensation

• Salary range: $55,000 to $60,000, based on experience

Work Environment

• This is a fully on-site role based in Kalamazoo, MI
• Regular in-person presence is required to support employees and operations
