 Site Superintendent

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Oversee and manage crews, ensure job quality and safety, complete required project documentation and train new employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage crews during routine operations.

  • Ensure operational readiness of the crew and equipment. This includes conducting pre-operational checks on vehicles and conducting on-the-job training for employees.

  • Ensure and enforce compliance with all applicable safety rules and polices required by customer and Taplin Group LLC

  • Provide input for employee evaluations.

  • Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure quality standards and customer expectations are met.

  • Ensure crews are provided with the necessary equipment (e.g. gloves, rain gear, tools, etc.) and maintain a record of such issues.

  • Conduct Job Safety Analysis.

  • Responsible for conduct and actions of assigned crew.

  • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Good communication skills in written and verbal forms

  • Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • Able to perform job with little or no supervision or instructions

  • Thorough knowledge of company field equipment and its capabilities.

  • Set up and operate water blasting equipment including the 10K, 20K and 40K units. This requires carrying and setting up hoses weighing up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods of time and operating water blast guns weighing u to 20 lbs and generating pressures up to 40,000 psi.

  • Set up and operate vacuum trucks. This includes lifting, carrying and pulling hoses of up to 100lbs, climbing onto the unit (12’ high) for setup and minor maintenance, standing kneeling or bending for long periods of time.

  • Perform confined space entry in tanks, pits, trenches and other areas that may include climbing, standing and working in awkward positions.

    • Clean driving record and insurable in accordance with Company’s current auto insurance carrier

    • Valid Michigan Driver’s License
